Take a step back in time with us
In the fall of 1992, five fellas – with the dream of building a train diorama of the Saskatchewan Prairies – were left unsupervised. That dream became a reality in the spring of 1993 when track was laid and the train set off on its maiden voyage.

Trailblazing the Prairies
The Western Development Museum in Saskatoon provided space in their Gallery. We enthusiastically showed up with all things trains. Our railway, almost as it was then, is a diorama depicting the first railway built in Saskatchewan that trailblazed from Regina to Prince Albert.

Over a million laps around the Prairies
Come see the trains that have made over a million combined laps around the Prairies! Our counter recently hit 500,000 double laps since it started nearly 30 years ago. You too can join in our history and come press the shiny green button to set the wheels in motion.
Our trains run during regular museum hours.
Help keep our history alive.
For over 30 years the Western Development Museum has graciously provided dedicated space for our model railways. Our group maintains, restores, modifies, and improves the dioramas at the WDM in Saskatoon. We also set up our G-Scale, “The Big One”, when the museum has the space for such a large display!
Although we are considered official museum volunteers, our group operates independently from the WDM. We would not be able to keep the wheels rolling without community support and donations. You can easily donate monetary funds or any equipment, materials, supplies, and – most importantly – trains!
